Kevin Nguyen pleads guilty to shooting two at Rockville Metro station
A Rockville teen pleaded guilty Monday to shooting two people at the Rockville Metro station in May.
Kevin Nguyen faces up to 50 years in prison on attempted second-degree murder and use of a handgun in the commission of a crime charges.
Police say Nguyen and his group of friends approached 16-year-old Jared Cannon inside the station on May 18 and got into an argument. Nguyen’s friend, Tavares Harris, handed him the handgun and Cannon was shot multiple times. Wasima Gary, a bystander, was also shot. Both suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Harris was found guilty of first-degree assault in early December. Police say he helped Nguyen plan the shooting.
