A series of highly complex playoff scenarios in the NFC comes down to a remarkably simple proposition for the Washington Redskins on Sunday.

If they beat (or tie) the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night in front of a national TV audience, they win the NFC East and make the playoffs. It's just that simple.

However, if the Redskins drop their season finale to the Cowboys, who would themselves take home the division crown, all may not be lost; in fact, the Redskins may have a playoff spot wrapped up by the time they take the field.

To do so, the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings would both have to lose on Sunday. If that happens, Washington would be guaranteed at least a Wild Card berth. A win over the Cowboys would still give them the NFC East championship and a home playoff game, though.

Dallas can only make the playoffs by winning on Sunday. All other avenues to the postseason for the Cowboys have been eliminated. The other NFC East team still in the playoff mix, the New York Giants, need a major miracle to get in; Big Blue needs a victory and losses by Dallas, Chicago and Minnesota just to get in.

The main difference, of course, between just getting into the playoffs and wining the NFC East title is the location of their first playoff game. Whoever wins the division will earn a Wild Card game at home, while if the Redskins take the back route to the playoffs, they'd open the postseason on the road.

The other NFC division race still up in the air is on the West Coat, where the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks are battling for the West title. The 49ers can clinch the division if they beat Arizona or the Seahawks lose at home to the St. Louis Rams.

Tickets not coming cheap for Redskins/Cowboys

If you're still hoping to snag a ticket or a pair of seats to Sunday's de facto NFC East championship game, you should prepare yourself to pay top dollar for seats, even in the nosebleeds.

Tickets for the game are going on Craigslist and other sites for hundreds of dollars per seat. Standing Room Only seats at FedEx Field are going for as much as $300 per ticket. If you want a seat in the upper 400 level, you're still going to pay several hundred dollars.

If you're hoping to get closer to the field in the lower level or in club seating, you're now talking about thousands of dollars for a pair.

Parking passes, which are scarce, are even going for nearly $100 each in some cases for spots that are touted as extremely close to the stadium gates.
