Brush fires on I-270 caused traffic delays

A major Tuesday afternoon brush fire caused major traffic delays on I-270
Three lanes were blocked in the northbound lanes of I-270 at Exit 1 (MD 187).
Several fires were spotted by the highway. The fires were located near a townhome community off Tuckerman Lane.
Resident Raz Mason said, "I parked my bike out back [and] got a little surprised when I saw the flames and the smoke."
"I think that's pretty scary," added neighbor Elliot Plotkin.
Delays extended beyond Exit 33 on the Outer Loop of 495.
Lanes re-opened on I-270 just after 6 p.m.
