Cpl. Rickie Adey acquitted of assault charges

A Prince George’s County Police officer indicted on charges of assaulting a 13-year-old boy was acquitted Thursday of all charges.
Cpl. Rickie Adey was indicted on one count of first degree assault, one count of second degree assault and one count of misconduct.
He was accused of assaulting and pointing a gun at the head of a teen during an altercation in August 2011 at the Capitol Court Apartments in Capitol Heights.
Adey had earlier been praised for saving several people and a dog during a July 26 fire District Heights apartment fire.
