D.C. area snowfall: Exercise caution when driving on local roads
With this area’s snowfall Wednesday night and Thursday morning, commuting on local roadways will call for some extra caution.
Some roads in Maryland are better than others. ABC7’s Jummy Olabanji said that along I-270, there were a lot of slick spots in Frederick County early Thursday morning.
Main roadways, however, improved in Montgomery County and Gaithersburg. State police are also out on most of the roadways.
Along 95 south, there are only two open lanes, because the others had not been plowed by Thursday morning. As expected, there were some slick spots, mainly at the entry and exit points to and from the highway.
There are, however, salt trucks out on the road, making driving conditions a bit easier.
When driving, please exercise normal winter weather precautions: drive slowly and carefully and leave a bit of space when following the car in front of you.
