Updated: January 25, 2013 - 03:00 pm
Montgomery County Police officials have released surveillance video of a robbery earlier this month at a Peruvian restaurant during which the suspect sprayed people with a fire extinguisher.
The robbery happened the night of Jan. 17 at the El Meson restaurant at 615 S. Frederick Ave. in Gaithersburg, Montgomery County Police say. Two suspects, who police describe as a black man and a Hispanic man, burst into the restaurant and discharged a fire extinguisher.
One masked suspect quickly made his way to the front, where he was caught on camera snatching a cash register and fleeing. The entire robbery was over in less than 10 seconds, after which both suspects fled on foot.
No one was injured in the incident.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact detectives at (240) 773-5100. The reward for information leading to an arrest in this case has been increased to $10,000.
