Glenmont jewelry store robbed
Montgomery County Police detectives are on the hunt for a man they say robbed a Glenmont jewelry store on Monday afternoon.
The robbery happened at about 12:45 Monday at The Gold Spot, which is located in the 11900 block of Georgia Avenue in the Glenmont area of Silver Spring, authorities say. Police say the suspect was allowed into the store, which has controlled access, by an employee. The suspect then pulled a mask over his face and pulled out a gun.
Police then say the suspect was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of money and gold jewelry.
The suspect is described as a 35 to 40-year-old black man standing about 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9 with a heavy build. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at (240) 773-5100 or (301) 279-8000.
