Police say a teenager lied about being shot in Great Mills Friday night.
A group of three teens originally told police they were shot at while walking in the West Westbury neighborhood around 7:30 p.m. Turns out, a15-year-old accidentally shot himself while holding a gun. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the teen made a false statement to police to cover up the accidental shooting. Charges are pending.
