Hogettes disband after 30 seasons
The Hogettes are no more.
Washington Redskins’ Hoggette Michael Torbert confirms that the Hogettes group is officially disbanding.
“After 30 seasons, the Hogettes® are hanging up our pig snouts & dresses,” stated Torbert. “It has been an honor being a part of the greatest 12th man fans in the NFL. We will forever be Redskins' fans and cheer for our beloved team.”
In 1983, the group burst onto the scene and into the hearts of Redskins fans everywhere.
The Hogettes are 12 male Redskins fans who wear women’s dresses, pig snouts and other attire and both cheer on the Redskins and earn money for charities for groups such as the March of Dimes and Children’s Miracle Network.
Fan Chris Tickle said, "I grew up watching the Hoggettes. It really is sad, a sad day."
"We are going to miss seeing them for sure," added Carl Wang.
The Hogettes will continue, incognito, to support various charities.
