Lewis Jackson admits to sexually abusing D.C. jail inmate, report states
WASHINGTON (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a Georgia doctor has admitted to sexually abusing an inmate while doing contract medical work at the District of Columbia Jail.
The U.S. Attorney's office says Lewis Jackson pleaded guilty in D.C. Superior Court on Tuesday to one count of second-degree sexual abuse. He faces up to 20 years in prison when he's sentenced later this year.
Prosecutors say Jackson, who has pleaded guilty to similar federal charges in Georgia, sexually assaulted an inmate who went to him for medical care in November 2008.
The 36-year-old Jackson is also awaiting sentencing in Atlanta, and will be sentenced in D.C. after that case is concluded.
