Maryland General Assembly convenes
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Maryland's annual legislative session is starting.
The Maryland General Assembly convenes on Wednesday at noon in Annapolis for the first day of the session, which is scheduled to end April 8.
Lawmakers are expected to grapple with transportation funding problems, gun control measures and a push to repeal capital punishment.
A push to help develop offshore wind off the coast of Ocean City also is expected to come before lawmakers for the third year in a row.
House Speaker Michael Busch and Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller are scheduled to talk about the session early Wednesday morning on the Marc Steiner Show on WEAA-FM. Gov. Martin O'Malley also is scheduled to be on the program after the presiding officers.
