Monopoly token vote will eliminate one iconic game marker
The end of the road is coming for one of Monopoly's iconic game tokens, and the company that makes the game is putting to a vote which one is getting the axe.
Parker Brothers, the company behind the longtime staple of American board game culture, is holding a vote on Facebook to determine which of the game's eight markers will go away.
Voters will choose between the car, thimble, boot, scottie dog, battleship, hat, iron and wheelbarrow, and the one with the least votes will be banished from the game.
That marker will then be replaced by one of five options - a robot, ring, cat, helicopter or guitar.
As of Wednesday morning, both the top hat (5 percent) and wheelbarrow (2 percent) found themselves staring exile in the face.
You can participate in the vote on the Monopoly Facebook page.
