Montgomery County considers smoking ban
January 15, 2013 - 05:45 am
The Montgomery County Council on Tuesday evening will consider a smoking ban.
Councilmember Nancy Floreen came up with the proposal, which would ban smoking on property owned or leased by the county.
The only exception would be for public “rights of way.”
Maryland’s anti-smoking laws are already strict. Four years ago, the state banned smoking in all enclosed public areas and many outdoor areas, such as playgrounds.
