Oscar Humberto Pineda accused in Takoma Park abduction, assault
A 27-year-old Hyattsville man is facing several charges in connection with a Jan. 22 assault and abduction.
Takoma Park Police arrested Oscar Humberto Pineda on Jan. 23, and charged him with kidnapping, false imprisonment and first and second degree assault.
According to police, the victim was walking in the 1300 block of University Boulevard when she received a phone call from Pineda, who was waiting for her in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven.
The suspect asked her to get into his car. When she refused, he forced her inside, police explained.
They drove to several jurisdictions without the victim's permission. Investigators say during the drive, Pineda struck the woman in her face and neck area and threatened to harm her family.
She asked to be taken home, calling police once she arrived.
Police located Pineda the following day in Gaithersburg. When he was arrested, police say, Pineda had an international airline ticket in his possession that was schedule to leave Jan. 24.
He is being held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
Police say further charges may be pending.
