Summer Youth Employment Program launches Friday for D.C. youth
Get your resumes ready: D.C.’s 2013 Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is launching Friday.
The online application for the2013 SYEP will be available to District residents between the ages of 14 and 21 starting at 12:15 p.m., on Friday, January 25. The program will provide six weeks of employment and work-readiness training to young people in D.C. this summer.
"Last year's Summer Youth Employment Program was the most successful in its history, and we will continue to build on that success this year," said Mayor Gray.
"Through SYEP, our youth are able to learn and develop the skills they need to be successful in the workplace. I am challenging private and public-sector employers across the District to participate in the program by providing meaningful internships for young District residents," Gray said in a statement.
Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis and must be received by Saturday, February 16, 2013. Space is limited, so youth should apply early.
