Tommy Wells launching mayoral exploratory committee

D.C. Councilman Tommy Wells is throwing his hat into the 2014 mayoral race, reports the Washington City Paper.

Wells, who represents Ward 6, tells the City Paper he’ll be launching his exploratory committee for mayor on Monday. He tells City Paper that it’s “likely” he’ll run for mayor.
Current Mayor Vincent Gray in October denied a news report stating that he wouldn’t see a second term.
