Dogs and cats made homeless from Hurricane Sandy will arrive in Washington Monday, according to a release from the Washington Animal Rescue League. The animals will come from temporary shelters in New York City and will be evaluated prior to adoption.

WARL teamed up with the ASPCA in the rescue effort.

All of the animals being sent to the Washington Animal Rescue League were either abandoned during the storm, surrendered by their owners because of the storm or were strays.
