Anne Arundel Police: 12-year-old on dirt bike collides with van
February 24, 2013 - 09:31 am
FRIENDSHIP, Md. (AP) - Anne Arundel County police say a 12-year-old boy is expected to recover after the dirt bike he was riding collided with a van.
The collision happened Saturday afternoon in the community of Friendship.
Police say the boy was operating his bike on Friendship Road when he abruptly turned into the path of the van. The boy fell off the bike, which then became lodged beneath the van.
Authorities are still investigating, but they say neither speed nor alcohol appears to be factors and that the boy was illegally riding his bike in the road.
No charges have been filed, and the boy is expected to recover.
