Charles Walker Jr. killed: 5 arrested for teen's murder
Prince George’s County Police have arrested five suspects in connection with the murder of a 15-year-old Suitland High School student.
All five suspects will be charged with first degree murder for allegedly killing Charles Walker Jr., a freshman who was targeted for his shoe purchase. Police identified the accused as 20-year-old Derryk Green of Alexandria, 23-year-old Glenn Leach of Southeast Washington, 18-year-old Jermani Whitner of Temple Hills, 21-year-old Tayvon Williams of Oxon Hill and 21-year-old Kevin Smith of Temple Hills.
Walker was shot to death Monday in the 4000 block of 28th Avenue in Hillcrest Heights. Family and friends say Walker was delivering a pair of Timberland boots to his girlfriend.
During a press conference Wednesday, investigators said all five participated in the crime, adding a Crime Solvers tip led them to the suspects.
Three of the men are being held in Prince George's County; two are in custody in D.C.
The day after Walker was killed, an 18-year-old Suitland High School student, Aaron Kidd, was shot and killed.
A total of six teens in Prince George's County have been killed this year.
