Donna Everett charged for allegedly abusing intellectually disabled man
A Randallstown caregiver was arrested for allegedly abusing an intellectually disabled man and the abuse was caught on video.
Police say Donna Everett, 57, is an Emerge, Inc. house manager in a Columbia group home. In the video she can be seen striking the 57-year-old man in the head, face and neck, and spitting in his face. She is also heard taunting and encouraging another female resident with disabilities to assist in the abuse.
Laughing can be heard in the background as the man tries to defend himself.
Emerge, Inc., a non-profit organization that serves individuals with developmental, physical and mental health disabilities, reported the video to police. Police are now working to identify whoever is responsible for making the video.
Everett faces several charges of assault and reckless endangerment. She posted a $100,000 bond and was released from the Howard County Detention Center.
