Douglas MacArthur student who allegedly brought gun to class has charges dropped

A 10-year-old boy who was facing criminal charges in Alexandria after he allegedly brought a toy gun on a school bus had the charges against him dropped.
The 5th grade student from Douglas MacArthur Elementary is accused of bringing the toy gun on a bus on Feb. 4. When the boy got off the school bus the next day, he allegedly had the same toy gun in his backpack.
The boy was charged with brandishing a weapon, a misdemeanor. He was also suspended from school. Alexandria’s Commonwealth Attorney confirmed the charges against the child were dropped.
