Gas prices increase in D.C. area
February 18, 2013 - 05:10 pm
In the past month, the national average for a gallon of regular has jumped 13 percent to $3.73 a gallon. That's 44 cents in just 30 days.
AAA is reporting that gas prices are $0.12 higher than the same time last year. WTOP reports that AAA predicts that gas could rise to $4 a gallon by April or May.
The international price of crude oil is the biggest factor for the rising gas prices, WTOP reports, adding that the price for a barrel of crude has gone up $2 to $97 a barrel this week.
