Katherine Bryant murder: Tips sought in Bryant's murder
Authorities in Stafford County are seeking tips on who may have been behind the murder of a 33-year-old woman whose remains were found in Stafford County last summer.
On Aug. 16, the skeletal remains of Katherine Bryant were found in a wooded area just off Interstate 95 near the exit for Courthouse Road in Stafford more than six years after she disappeared from the D.C. metro area.
Bryant's death continues to be investigated as a murder. Authorities say she was known to be involved with Murder Incorporated, which officials say was one of the most violent drug organizations in this region's history.
Murder Inc. was involved in large-scale drug trafficking and numerous murders, officials say. Six of its members were convicted in a high profile case in federal court on drug and murder charges in 2004.
"This young lady is a daughter and a sister and her family deserves to know who is responsible for her death," Stafford County Sheriff Charles Jett said in a statement.
Anyone with information on Bryant's murder is asked to contact Stafford County Sheriff's Office detectives.
