A man is in custody for allegedly stealing a vehicle from the Addison Road Metro station early Saturday.
Isom Cooper, 49, was taken into custody at the Comfort Inn on Van Dorn Street near the Capital Beltway around 4 p.m., hours after he fled from police.
Metro Transit Police were able to track the stolen Pontiac to Van Dorn Street in Kingstowne, Va. using the victim's iPhone, which was left inside. Cooper took off in the stolen Pontiac, later abandoning it on a ramp leading to the Capital Beltway. He then fled on foot.
Cooper has been charged with auto theft. Other charges may be pending.
