Militants attack office in Pakistan
PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) - Militants have attacked the office of a senior political official in the northwestern city of Peshawar, killing at least five people.
Police today's attackers wore suicide vests and were disguised as policemen. Four of them opened fire on policemen protecting the compound and managed to get inside. Police say once inside, three of the attackers detonated their suicide vests.
Seven other people were wounded.
Meanwhile, in Pakistan's southwest, several thousand Shiite Muslims protested for a second day following a massive bombing targeting the minority sect that killed 84 people.
The protesters have refused to bury victims of the attack until authorities take action against the attackers.
