Millicent West charged with tax fraud, expected to plead guilty

The former head of D.C's Homeland Security Office is expected to plead guilty to tax fraud charges.
The plea comes after Millicent West was charged with tax fraud Thursday.
Millicent West resigned as D.C. director of homeland security and emergency management in January 2012, She was previously linked to disgraced former D.C. Councilman Harry Thomas.
West's previous job was to run the Children Youth and Investment Trust Corporation, which paid out $400,000 in phony invoices that ended up in the pockets of Thomas. Thomas was later convicted of theft and sentenced to serve 38 months.
West previously denied any wrongdoing.
