Mom takes action after Facebook bullying of girl
EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP) - An Emmitsburg woman is using Facebook to expose cyberbullying by a Pennsylvania man who used the social media website to ridicule her 5-year-old daughter.
Sherry Myers said Thursday that she started the "Justice for Jayden" page after an East Berlin, Pa., firefighter posted pictures of her daughter that he shot in the waiting room of a doctor's office in nearby Gettysburg, Pa., on Saturday.
Firefighter Dave Fritz also wrote messages ridiculing the girl's shoes and questioning her gender.
Fritz took down the pictures and apologized to Myers after she contacted him later that day. He says his actions were in bad taste.
Myers says she was stunned at such behavior by an authority figure that she teaches her children to respect.
The story was first reported by WFMD-FM in Frederick.
