One adult seriously injured in Montgomery Co. school bus accident
One adult suffered life-threatening injuries following a collision with a school bus in Montgomery County Friday afternoon.
The accident happened on Clopper Road, just as a band of rain and sleet moved through the area.
Montgomery County Police Sgt. Dan Friz said, "There is no doubt the road was wet."
A dark-colored BMW SUV was traveling westbound on Clopper Road when, according to witnesses, it was rear-ended by a commercial van. The impact forced the BMW into the school bus, which was traveling eastbound. The driver of the BMW was transported with lie-threatening injuries.
Montgomery County police add the children on the bus, as well as the driver, did not suffer any major injuries but were taken to the hospital for evaluations. The students on the bus attend Clopper Elementary School.
"The students were transported to a hospital as a precaution for check ups…happy to report they are all okay," Fritz added.
Two other adults were also transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Police say Clopper Road at Game Preserve Road has re-opened.
