Mount Vernon President's Day celebrations

On this President's Day, there’s a birthday bash for the first commander-in-chief. On Monday, thousands are celebrating George Washington at his home at Mount Vernon.
There’s a series of events to celebrate the man who held many titles, including Commander-of-the-Continental Army and President of the Constitutional Convention.
On Monday morning, military representatives laid a wreath at his tomb.
Visitors also have the chance to tour the mansion and take part in a revolutionary war re-enactment.
The president's party at Mount Vernon continues until 4 p.m.
