NBA trade deadline 2013: Jordan Crawford traded to Boston Celtics for Leandro Barbosa
Updated: February 21, 2013 - 04:00 pm
WASHINGTON (AP) - The Washington Wizards have sent disgruntled guard Jordan Crawford to the Boston Celtics for center Jason Collins and injured guard Leandro Barbosa.
The Wizards dispensed of Crawford shortly before the Thursday afternoon trade deadline.
Crawford carried much of the scoring load early this season but had been unhappy with his role since the return of John Wall from injury. He flung his jersey into the stands after failing to play for the fourth straight game after Tuesday's loss to the Toronto Raptors.
The Wizards are essentially getting two expiring contracts. Barbosa tore the ACL in his left knee earlier this month and will miss the rest of the season. He and Collins are set to become free agents this summer.
