A 3-year-old was fatally struck by the family car in Oxon Hill Wednesday around 7:30 p.m., according to Prince George's County Police.
Police say the 3-year-old and his grandmother were inside the vehicle in the 600 block of Audrey Lane when it started to roll backwards. The father, who was holding a 2-year-old girl nearby, dropped the toddler to jump in the car and stop it.

The victim is identified as Dominic Watkins, Jr. of the 600 block of Audrey Lane in Oxon Hill.
The 2-year-old has some injuries from being dropped, but she is expected to be OK.
Another pedestrian was struck in a hit-and-run in Manassas. The victim was flown to an area hospital. The accident shut down the intersection of Lomond Drive at Garner Drive.
