Rabid fox bites woman in Rock Creek Park
February 15, 2013 - 07:41 am
A young mother was bitten by a rabid fox this week in Rock Creek Park, The Washington Post reports. The woman, who was bitten on the leg, is receiving treatment.
The fox bit the woman on Tuesday inside the Northwest Washington park. The fox was later captured and killed by D.C. animal control officers, the Post reports.
Tuesday’s incident follows a string of high-profile attacks involving rabid animals in the D.C. area., including one involving a rabid beaver that seriously injured an 83-year-old woman swimming in Lake Barcroft in Fairfax County in September.
