Springfield groper strikes for 18th time, police believe
Police believe a serial groper in Springfield may have assaulted his 18th victim Wednesday.
Officers were called to the 6600 block of Grey Fox Drive just after 5 p.m. The 21-year-old victim told police she was walking alone when a man approached her from behind and grabbed her buttocks. He then fled the area.
The woman was not injured.
The suspect is described as a white or possibly Hispanic man, standing 5'6" to 5'8" tall and weighing 180 pounds. He was wearing a gray t-shirt with blue sleeves, dark sweatpants, white sneakers and a cloth partially covered his face.
Previous assaults that are possibly linked to this case date back to Sept.
Police have released a new composite sketch of the suspect, compiled from incidents reported Jan. 30.
