Sixth grade Meadow Hall Elementary School teacher Timothy Krupica won't be in class Friday, instead he'll be in court. The 30-year old is facing charges of sexual abuse of a minor.
Police say two 11-year-old girls reported that they had been inappropriately touched by their teacher, Timothy Vincent Krupica of Frederick. According to investigators, Krupica taught at Meadow Hall Elementary School.
The crime allegedly occurred on several occasions between September 2012 and this month. Krupica is also accused of forcing or attempting to force both girls to touch him.
Krupica is charged with two counts of sexual abuse of a minor and faces several other sexual offense charges.
School officials say Krupica began working at the school in Aug. 2009. He is currently on administrative leave.
Montgomery County Public Schools released the following statement:
The allegations that led to this arrest were brought to the attention of school staff Wednesday and school administration immediately notified Montgomery County Police and Child Protective Services. The teacher has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation. The school has informed its community and counselors are available to the students.
