Alexandria Planning Commission approves waterfront rezoning
The Alexandria Planning Commission has unanimously approved a controversial plan that would almost triple allowable density at three sites on the waterfront slated for redevelopment.
Currently, the sites have 300,000 square feet. Commissioners approved more than 800,000 square feet of development.
The planning commission sent the plan to city council. The city’s top-elected officials will take up the issue on March 16.
