Catholic University's men's and women's basketball teams win conference titles
Catholic University's men's and women's basketball teams have both won their conference titles. And if the women beat Cabrini tonight, both will host NCAA Division III tournament games.
Catholic is just one of seven Division III schools to have both basketball programs ranked in the top ten. The Lady Cardinals set a school record for wins this season.
While there's no shortage of fans, both teams admit to being each other's biggest fans.
"They are a part of the reason that we are the way we are today," says Shawn Holmes.
"We feed off each other," Katarina Owunna says. "The boys are some of our closest friends and a lot of them came up to me after we won our championship and said, 'After you guys won, we fed off that energy.' It's so mutual between the two of us."
