Cherry Blossom Festival 2013 begins Wednesday
March 20, 2013 - 07:12 am
It's the first day of spring and the first day of The National Cherry Blossom Festival.
The cherry blossoms draw about one million visitors to the nation's capital each spring. This year marks the 101st anniversary of the gift of trees from Japan.
This year's festival runs between March 20 and April 14, and National Park Service officials expect peak bloom to come between April 3 and 6.
