Davis, who has spent his entire five-year NFL career with the Redskins, has caught 155 passes for 1,973 yards and 12 touchdowns during his career in Washington.

NFL.com's Albert Breer reports that the contract, though, is only for the 2013 season. The team was reportedly competing with the Buffalo Bills to sign Davis, who was one of the hotter names remaining on the free agent market this offseason.

The 27-year-old tight end out of USC played in just seven games last season for the NFC East champions before tearing his Achilles' tendon during an Oct. 21 game against the New York Giants, ending his season.
