Gaithersburg car accident injures Montgomery County Fire battalion chief
A Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service battalion chief was taken to the hospital after the department says a vehicle with six people in it struck his SUV Sunday night in Gaithersburg.
Montgomery County Fire spokesperson Scott Graham told ABC7 the battalion chief and all six people in the other vehicle were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Graham said the battalion chief was on Montgomery Village Avenue crossing Route 355/North Frederick Avenue when his SUV was hit by the other vehicle. His SUV wound up partially on the median on Montgomery Village Avenue just east of the intersection.
The battalion chief was headed to a fire in Gatihersburg when the accident happened.
Montgomery County Police will determine who was at fault and if any charges will be filed.
