With a clear message on their minds and their signs, gun safety advocates marched to the NRA Tuesday morning  in Fairfax demanding action.

The group delivered a petition with more than 150,000 signatures to the NRA president asking his organization to support what they call common sense legislation on gun safety.

The effort comes three months after the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook elementary that killed 20 students and six adults.

Lori Haas' says it’s sad to continue to watch these mass shootings.

Her daughter Emily is a survivor of the Virginia Tech massacre.

She says the measures talked about today should've been talked about years ago.

“We will not allow this to happen again we are going to make sure our families and children are safe from gun violence,” she says.

Many marching here Tuesday are confident this is the year laws will Change and they believe 12 months from now they won't be talking about new policies in place.
