Hyattsville considers cutting retirement benefits for spouses of retired workers
The city of Hyattsville is looking into cutting retirement benefits for spouses of its retired employees in a cost-cutting measure, the Gazette reports.
City officials say that they're paying more than 6 percent the city's 2013 budget into health care costs for retired employees and is looking for places to cut back.
The Gazette says that cities of similar size pay much less than what Hyattsville does on an annual basis.
