Jonathan Womble smuggled drugs to D.C. jail inmates, documents allege
The D.C. jail guard who was arrested in February for having marijuana in his locker was allegedly smuggling the drugs to an inmate, the Washington Examiner reports.
According to the Examiner's Scott McCabe, Jonathan Womble, who was arrested in mid-February on charges of bringing contraband into prison, was passing off the drugs and other items to inmates.
Court documents allege that Womble worked with another man outside the Southeast D.C. facility to bring the drugs into the jail. Recorded phone conversations and video detail the exchanges as well, documents say.
Womble had worked at the jail since 2008.
