Loudoun Co. children shot at by BB gun
Police in Loudoun County are stepping up patrol after someone shot a BB gun at two children in the Broadlands area last week.
Police say an 11-year-old was walking near Heritage Oak Court and Ridgeway Drive around 4 p.m. Thursday when he heard a noise. He was then struck by a BB gun pellet. He told his family he saw a black pick-up truck in the area with a black man sitting on the passenger side.
About 90 minutes later, the boy’s sister told her family she was walking near Ridgeway Drive when she heard shots. She said she saw the same black pick-up drive by and then turn around. A passenger pointed the BB gun at her through a passenger window but missed.
The girl described the driver as a black man with a beard.
According to the family, the 11-year-old received minor injuries but did not require medical treatment.
The next morning, a child noticed a black vehicle pass her, turn around, and stop near her home off Ridgeway Drive.
Police are on the lookout for the vehicle and have added extra patrol to the area.
