Man smashes D.C. jewelry store window, steals diamond rings
A man smashed into a display window of a D.C. jewelry store and stole three trays of white diamond rings Wednesday morning.
The Washington Post reports that the heist happened about 10:20 a.m. at Robert Laurence Jewelers in the 1200 block of G St. NW, near Metro Center, four blocks from the White House.
“It was a bold, brazen move,” D.C. Officer Araz Alali, a department spokesperson, told the Post. “It was audacious theft and we are determined to apprehend this individual.”
Robert Laurence told the Post the loss was a little more than $5,000, less than originally thought.
