In the Cherrydale section of Arlington Monday morning, a tree weighed down by the heavy, wet snow, knocked into a power line on Lorcom Lane.

Almost 4,000 customers lost power.

Soon after the power went out, the sound of generators filled the air. But Aubrey Mansfield knows it won't last long.

“I'm really not upset. It will be 60 this weekend,” Mansfield says.

Last night, VDOT deployed 600 trucks to treat and plow roads throughout

Northern Virginia. And in Fairfax County, drivers liked the results.

“The main highways really aren't too bad,” said one commuter.
