Metro closing early Sunday morning because of Daylight Saving Time
Two Metro stations will close starting late Friday night as part of ongoing track work and the system will close early Sunday morning due to Daylight Saving Time.
The Minnesota Avenue and Deanwood stations will close starting at 10 p.m. Friday night. Shuttle buses will run on the Orange Line between Stadium-Armory and Cheverly and on the Blue Line between Stadium-Armory and Benning Road.
Trains will also single track on the Orange Line between West and East Falls Church and on the Red Line between Judiciary Square and Rhode Island Avenue. Single-tracking will also happen between L'Enfant Plaza and Mt. Vernon Square on the Green and Yellow Lines.
In addition to the track work, the rail system will still close at 3 a.m. Sunday after clocks jump ahead one hour due to Daylight Saving Time. Final trains will move through stations between 1 and 2 a.m.
