Sequestration 2013: USDA plans to furlough up to 34,000 employees

The Department of Agriculture is the latest federal agency to outline its plans to furlough workers if cuts related to sequestration go through, Federal Times reports.
The USDA says it will likely furlough 9,800 food safety and inspection workers for 11 days each to make up for $2 billion in budget cuts. It's a fraction of what they say will include the furlough of 34,000 employees for nearly half a month.
