St. Patrick's Day Parade to close several streets

Downtown Washington will be a sea of green Sunday as the city celebrates the the 42nd annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
It kicks off around noon at the National Mall. The parade proceeds westbound on Constitution Avenue from 7th Street to 17th Street, NW.
This year's theme is ‘Celebrating Service to the Stars and Stripes”.
The parade route is easily accessible from the Federal Triangle, Archives-Navy Memorial and Smithsonian metro stations.
7th Street will be closed between Constitution Avenue, NW and Independence Avenue, SW. The numbered streets from 7th Street that intersect with Constitution Avenue, NW will also be closed.
Roads are expected to reopen around 3 p.m.
