Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert pulls politics card to try to get out of ticket
D.C. politics at its best. A congressman tried to wriggle his way out of a ticket by pulling the power card.
Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert was written a ticket for a parking violation the evening of March 13. According to U.S. Park Police, the Republican congressman got into a verbal altercation with one of their officers over the citation, Politico reported.
Gohmert took the ticket off his windshield and placed it on a police car along with his business card with a written message: “Oversight of Park Service is my job! Natural Resources Thus the Congressional Plate in window,” according to a Park Police report that was obtained by Politico.
