Three people were injured when a car jumped a curb and struck them Tuesday afternoon.

Just after noon, the victims were waiting for a Metrobus near the corner of Georgia Avenue and Butternut Street, near the gate of the Old Walter Reed Medical Center. John Williams was about to turn onto Georgia Avenue when, he says, he saw the Toyota drive onto the sidewalk. He says the Toyota was going at least 30 mph.

"Things can happen in a matter of seconds...," Williams said. "...that all happened pretty quick."

The Toyota clipped Williams' truck.

"My Lord and Savior is definitely looking out for me...hope it's the same for the person lying on the street," Williams added.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.

The patient who was previously listed as being in critical condition has been upgraded to stable condition. There's no word on the conditions of the other patients.
